Madrid, 13th of March 2021. Miguel Díaz Román has been re-elected by the Assembly of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) as president for the next four years. In a remote assembly, following the recommendations of the CSD due to the current pandemic situation, 129 (of 132) assembly members decided to grant their trust to Díaz Román, who expressed his satisfaction at the end of the meeting. "It is a great joy to once again have the confidence of all to continue working for Tennis. We have the same enthusiasm and energy that we have had from the first day until today to face this exciting challenge that we have".

In these four years of mandate Díaz Román and his team have consolidated the pyramid of International Tournaments in Spain as one of the best in the World, both at Junior and Professional level. "And we want to continue in that line. We will give opportunities to those who want to become professionals to start their career in Spain".

During the last legislature, he also started the Amateur Circuit, which mobilizes more than 100,000 amateur players a year all over Spain. Under his mandate, the MAPFRE Spanish National Team won the Davis Cup in Madrid in 2019, while the Women's National Team is waiting to play the finals in Budapest in 2021. "For our best male and female players, the formula has always been the same; to provide a peaceful environment so that they can just focus on competing."

Six months ago, the RFET's new headquarters in Barcelona were inaugurated, the first one owned in the entity's 103 years of history. "This is a source of pride for all of us. Being the first to have a headquarters of this category in the center of Barcelona is something very important. It is the House of Tennis, open to everyone".

Miguel Díaz Román is 59 years old, he is a businessman in the economic sector and as a sportsman he has excelled in athletics, motor racing, tennis and paddle tennis.
